Del Rio City Council members on Tuesday voted to go out for bids on a project to rehabilitate footbridges and a portion of the walkway along the San Felipe Creek.
The city council voted unanimously to approve a resolution authorizing City Manager Matt Wojnowski to advertise for bids for the San Felipe Creek footbridges and bank improvement project. The proposed cost of the project will be more specific once bids are received, the city manager said, noting the city will pay for the construction from previously obtained certificates of obligation (COs).
The council on Tuesday also took action on the following:
- Unanimously approved an ordinance rezoning 191 Wildcat Drive from local commercial district to residential multiple family district. Antonio Rodriguez, representing ROGA Construction LLC, requested the rezoning of the 3.41-acre lot. City Planner Janice Pokrant said the property owner wants to subdivide the lot into 18 single-family lots and two multiple-family lots.
- Unanimously approved an ordinance authorizing the city manager to implement two incentive programs for the city’s natural gas department.
- Unanimously approved an ordinance approving an interlocal cooperation agreement between the city and Val Verde County for implementation and enforcement of the city’s on-site sewage facility program.
- Unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to extend the depository bank services agreement.
- Unanimously approved an ordinance to award the bid for the purchase of 13 vehicles in the amount of $335,463 to Ram Country Chrysler Dodge Inc.
- Unanimously approved an ordinance to award the bid for the purchase of one vehicle in the amount of $24,628.75 to Cecil Atkission Ford.
