Local leaders are hoping for a day of quiet with temperatures dropping again tonight into the ‘20’s. Here’s some fresh updates we have
Laughlin isn’t closed ‘but’…
Laughlin is fully open at this point. The wing commander says, “Roads are in good condition but caution should be exercised.” Great advice today.
What’s Opening
City has opened a warming center at the Chihuahua Center at 1401 Las Vacas Center at 6 p.m. Saturday and will remain open until noon Monday.
According to AEP, Kinney County has opened a warming center in Brackettville at
408 S Ann St, Brackettville, Jimmy Earnest, Open 10AM – 6PM 1/24 &1/25/26.
Not happening
Malinda’s restaurant inside the Ramada will be closed for brunch and evening hours.
All SFDR-CISD activities are canceled throughout the weekend.
Monday impacts
SFDR-CISD
Elementary classes will begin at 9:45 a.m. with bus routes beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Secondary classes (6th – 12th grade) will begin at 10:30 a.m., with bus routes beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Staff Reporting Times
Security Personnel: Report at 7:00 a.m.
Essential Staff (Cafeteria staff, Custodians and Maintenance): Report at 8:30 a.m.
All Campus Staff: Report 45 minutes prior to start of classes
Non-Campus Administrative and Support Staff: Report at 10:00 a.m.
City of Del Rio non-essential offices will open at 1 p.m. Monday.
All Val Verde County offices will open at 10 a.m. Monday. This includes Val Verde courts. Road crew members need to contact supervisors.
