Del Rio, Texas – On June 19 2021, at 2020 hours the Del Rio Police Department Communication Center received a call for service at the 900 block of Waters Avenue. The caller requested police assistance after a male subject shot another male with a firearm. The caller further advised the suspect left the area and provided a vehicle description. Police arrived at the scene and located a 28-year-old male that had visible injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Officers initiated CPR and requested an ambulance. The injured male was transported to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for treatment via ambulance. Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene to assist patrolmen. At approximately 2135 hrs. the injured male expired due to his injuries.
Identification of the victim will be released at a later date due to pending next of kin notification. This is an open investigation; no further details are available at the time.
