Student altercation reported after school
The following information was provided by San Felipe Del Rio CISD.
San Felipe Del Rio CISD would like to inform parents and the community of an incident that occurred today after school dismissal.
After classes were released for the day, two students from Del Rio High School were involved in a physical altercation in front of the Val Verde County Fairgrounds. During the incident, one student sustained injuries that required medical attention.
A passing motorist observed the injured student and transported him to the Del Rio High School Freshman Campus for treatment. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Del Rio Police Department responded promptly to the Freshman Campus to provide assistance and assess the situation.
The safety and well-being of our students remains our top priority. The incident is being addressed in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, and the matter has been referred to law enforcement for further review.
We appreciate the quick response of first responders and the cooperation of those who assisted. Parents with questions may contact campus administration for additional information.
San Felipe Del Rio CISD will continue to work closely with local authorities to ensure the safety of our students on and off campus.
