City of Del Rio Police Department press release
On April 30th, 2024, at approximately 11:43 a.m. Del Rio Police Department responded to the Del Rio High School regarding threats towards a student.
Upon arrival police met with the School Staff, the victim and his parent who reported the victim was robbed the prior day by a group of juveniles.
The victim reported he was walking home from school when he noticed a group of approximately five juveniles following him. He said the juveniles chased him to a nearby empty lot outside of the school grounds located at the 100 block of Fairway Dr. The victim reported he was held down by some of the juveniles while the others searched the contents of his backpack for valuables.
One of the juveniles exhibited and pointed a knife at the victim in a threatening manner during the commission of the theft, placing him in fear of serious bodily injury. The juvenile suspects removed a video game from the victim and misc. school supplies.
A report was generated, this is an on-going investigation and no further information is available at the time.
