NEWS — Laughlin breached during DPS chase

At approximately 7:30 a.m. CST on Jan. 21, Laughlin AFB was notified of pursuit of a vehicle by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) headed towards Laughlin AFB. The vehicle was stopped outside Laughlin AFB Visitor Control Center where the driver struck the concrete base of a light post. After the collision, four persons fled the vehicle breaching Laughlin AFB near the West gate and three remaining individuals were apprehended outside the installation.U.S. Border Patrol, DPS and Laughlin AFB security forces conducted a search of the base and successfully found all four persons and U.S. Border Patrol took custody.

The base populace was placed under stay-put orders during the search of the trespassing individuals.

The incident resolved at approximately 10:00 a.m. and the stay-put orders were terminated.
