NEWS — Laughlin names 2024’s best

Laughlin’s 47th Flying Training Wing unveiled its top performers for 2024 in a Friday evening ceremony.

The Airman of the Year award was presented to Senior Airman Sydney Rogers from the 47th Medical Group.

For Noncommissioned Officer of the Year, Master Sgt. Ryan Kneafsey, from the 47th Mission Support Group, was recognized.

The Company Grade Officer of the Year award went to Capt. Mayra Alexander, also from the 47th Mission Support Group.

Maj. Martin Madsen, from the 47th Operations Group, earned the title of Field Grade Officer of the Year.

In the civilian categories:

  • Rosanna Flores, from the 47th Wing Staff Agencies, was named Non-Supervisory Category One Civilian of the Year.
  • Ricardo Rios III, from the 47th Mission Support Group, received the Non-Supervisory Category Two Civilian of the Year award.
  • Jose Lugo, from the 47th Operations Group, was named Supervisory Category Two Civilian of the Year.
  • Brandon Ludemann, from the Operations Group, was honored as Supervisory Category Three Civilian of the Year.

For excellence in ceremonial duties:

  • Senior Airman Kilani Stinnett, from the 47th Operations Group, was named Honor Guardsman of the Year.
  • Tech. Sgt. Christian Ramos, from the 47th Mission Support Group, was recognized as Honor Guard Program Manager of the Year.

The Volunteer of the Year award went to the 47th Medical Group’s Tech. Sgt. Brandon Clement.

The 47th Maintenance Directorate’s Components Division was recognized as Team of the Year.

Master Sgt. Christopher Matthews, from the Operations Group, was named First Sergeant of the Year.

The Key Support Liaison of the Year award went to Abigail Germain, from the Operations Group.

Capt. Brandon Spadafora, from the 85th Flying Training Squadron, was named Instructor Pilot of the Year.

In the Rising Eagle Awards for high school students:

  • Alfredo Garcia was recognized as the 11th Grade Rising Eagle Award winner.
  • Christi Colunga received the 12th Grade Rising Eagle Award.

These honorees have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service, contributing to the success of the base and its mission.
