A 27-year-old Del Rio woman was found unresponsive in the 3400 block of U.S. Highway 90 on the city’s east side, police said.
Del Rio Police Department Cpl. Dulce Gonzalez, the department’s public information officer, released the following written statement about the incident this afternoon.
“On June 13, 2024, at 11:16 a.m., the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 3400 block of U.S. Highway 90 East to assist EMS (emergency medical services) with a call regarding an unresponsive female,” Gonzalez wrote.
“Criminal Investigations Division was requested. Justice of the peace was requested for a mandatory inquest,” she added.
Gonzalez wrote the unresponsive woman had no visible injuries, and there was “no indication of foul play.”
“Next of kin has been notified, and the woman was identified as Blanca Torres, 27 years of age,” Gonzalez wrote.
“The justice of the peace has requested an autopsy to determine cause of death. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time,” the corporal added.
