On September 16th, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m. the Del Rio
Police Department responded to the area of Hutchinson Street in reference to a suspicious male subject carrying a stick or a knife.
Upon arrival, police located a male identified as Rene S. Garcia; 30 years of age. Garcia was walking in the area of Zacatecos Street. Police made contact with Garcia and requested a warrant inquiry.
The Del Rio Emergency Communication Division informed police, Garcia had an active arrest warrant out of Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office for the offense of Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
Police confirmed the arrest warrant with the issuing agency and Garcia was taken into custody.
Garcia was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for processing. He was later transported to GEO
Correctional Facility.
