Local federal employees will have the chance to learn more about maximizing their retirement benefits during a seminar scheduled for Nov. 13 at the Val Verde County Library, 300 Spring St. It’s a seminar provided by Money Concepts Wealth Management and Financial Planning.
The seminar, titled “From Badge to Beach: Helping You Optimize Your Federal Retirement,” is designed for military members, U.S. Border Patrol agents and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, as well as other federal employees at any stage of their careers.
Organizers said the goal is to help federal workers better understand their retirement systems, benefits and long-term financial planning options.

Management and Financial Planning in Del Rio, has more than 20 years of experience helping military and federal employees plan for retirement. Mercado, who holds an MBA and is a licensed enrolled agent, specializes in guiding clients through tax-efficient retirement strategies.
“Many federal employees spend decades serving their country, but often don’t receive clear guidance on how to plan for retirement,” Mercado said. “This seminar is designed to provide that clarity and help them make confident, informed decisions about their future.”

Two seminar sessions will be offered:
- 12 to 1:30 p.m.
- 6 to 7:30 p.m.
