The Del Rio Police Department released information on two arrests this week. Following are their releases.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
On February 15, 2026, at approximately 3:06 a.m., officers with the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 300 block of June Avenue in reference to a disturbance in progress involving reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the suspects had fled the area in two separate vehicles. Although several individuals were involved in the disturbance, witnesses identified one subject as the sole gunman.
During the investigation, officers learned that an adult female sustained non-life-threatening injuries but declined medical attention. One vehicle at the scene was found damaged by multiple gunshots. Officers recovered several spent shell casings and projectiles from the area. No additional property damage or injuries were reported.
Preliminary findings indicate the individuals involved had engaged in a physical altercation earlier that morning at a nightclub in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. The parties later traveled to Del Rio, Texas, where the second disturbance occurred on June Avenue.
Witnesses identified the alleged gunman as Nathan Rios, 20 years of age. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant charging Rios with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
After contacting the suspect’s family, Rios voluntarily turned himself in to authorities without incident. On February 20, 2026, Rios was arrested at the Del Rio Police Department, processed, and later released to the custody of the GEO Correctional Facility pending magistration.
This investigation remains ongoing. No additional information is available at this time.
Felony Warrants
On February 20, 2025, at approximately 3:05 p.m., officers with the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 500 block of Pecan Street in reference to a suspicious person.
Upon arrival, officers located a male subject in the parking lot of a local business. Officers made contact with the individual, who was

identified as Christopher Perez, 40 years of age.
A warrant inquiry revealed Perez had two outstanding arrest warrants issued by the Comal County Sheriff’s Office. The warrants were confirmed with the issuing agency. Perez was wanted for Violation of Conditions of Probation – Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Violation of Conditions of Probation – Assault Family/Household Member with Previous Convictions.
Perez was placed under arrest and transported to the Del Rio Police Department for processing. He was later released to the custody of the GEO Correctional Facility pending the magistration process.
