City of Del Rio Police Department press release
On September 10th, 2023, at approximately 4:49 AM, the Del Rio Police Department responded to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for a sexual assault report. Upon arrival, police met with an adult victim who reported a sexual assault by a known male suspect.
The Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
As the investigation continued, detectives developed further information into the allegations made. An affidavit was prepared seeking the issuance of an arrest warrant against the defendant. The arrest warrant was granted, and detectives conducted surveillance, attempting to locate the subject.
On December 11 at approximately 11:00 AM the subject identified as Jesus Manuel Piña Juarez; 42 years of age was located as he traveled near the area of Greenwood and Griner St. Juarez was taken into custody with no incident. Juarez was arrested for the sexual offense and was transported to the police station for booking, he was then released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
