The following press release was provided by the Del Rio Police Department.
On July 28th, 2026, at approximately 12:26 p.m., Del Rio Police Department officers responded to the 2800 block of Veterans Boulevard/Palomino Park regarding a report of a missing 3-year-old child.
Upon arrival, officers searched the residence and surrounding area after learning the child may have exited the home. Within minutes, officers located the child outside a residence in the Palomino Park area.
The child was found safe, with no apparent injuries. Due to the hot weather, EMS responded as a precaution and evaluated the child, who was determined to be in good condition.
The child was safely reunited with the parents.
Child Protective Services was notified due to the circumstances of the incident. No further action
was taken by the Del Rio Police Department.
The Del Rio Police Department would like to remind parents and caregivers to ensure young
children are closely supervised and ensure doors and other potential exits are secured.
