Del Rio Police Department press release
The Del Rio Police Department would like to warn the public of the current prank game in our area.
The game is called “Senior Assassin”, players create a list of classmates they need to eliminate /kill by spraying them with a water gun, while they avoid being “killed” themselves. Participants use mobile apps to track their targets and record their kills.
The “Senior Assassin” game has become popular among students across the country and recently in our area. The danger with this game is the use of water guns, which can easily be mistaken for real firearms.
The game involves a certain degree of hiding and sneaking around to surprise other players while carrying a toy gun, this may cause public or police reaction.
Parents are urged to speak to their teens about the potential dangers of the game. Also, be aware participation in the game may cause a threat or disruption to others and can lead to legal consequences.
For teens the safest thing is not to play. While we understand it’s just a game, the participant must consider how it may appear to the public.
