Performance Therapeutics has upgraded to a new Del Rio location.

The physical therapy and sports medicine clinic, formerly on Bedell Avenue, is now open at 2409 Veterans Blvd.

The move was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event held there July 26 and included members of the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce’s Red Carpet Committee and Performance Therapeutics’ Del Rio staff.

The event featured the cutting of a ceremonial ribbon by Omar Palomin, founder and owner of Performance Therapeutics.

Joining Palomin for the opening ceremony were Performance Therapeutics COO Eddie Canales, Marketing Manager Ruben Flores, COC Ivan Gaytan, Marketing Liaison Brandon Williams and the physical therapist at the Del Rio clinic, Jo Anne Sobrevega.

According to the business’ web site, performancetherapeutics.com, Palomin founded the business in 2003 in Edinburg, Texas, in response to the need for outpatient adult orthopedic physical therapy in the Rio Grande Valley.

“Performance Therapeutics physical therapy and sports medicine clinics can now be found in 13 different locations, from south Texas to San Antonio, Del Rio and Eagle Pass,” said Lisa Solis, Performance Therapeutics clinical operations manager.

Before the move to the Veterans Boulevard location, Performance Therapeutics was open at its Bedell Avenue site for 10 years, she added.

Solis said Performance Therapeutics focuses on a variety of physical therapies, starting with an initial evaluation of patients. Once a patient is determined to need treatment, he or she needs to get a referral from his or her primary care physician, Solis said.

Performance Therapeutics also offers sports medicine.

“There are young people starting sports programs through school who may need to so some extra stretching, and we also have therapists who can do massage-type work and get these young athletes back where they need to be,” Solis said.

Performance Therapeutics also offers an autism center called Building Blocks, which is operated out of the facility in Edinburg, Texas.

Solis said the staff at the new Del Rio location includes a physical therapist, two physical therapy technicians, a tech driver and personal service manager.

Performance Therapeutics is open at 2409 Veterans Blvd. from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Call Performance Therapeutics staff at (830) 488-6265 for more information or to schedule and appointment.
