Del Rio police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a dead woman found inside a car parked along U.S. Highway 90 on the east side of the city earlier today.
A release issued by the Del Rio Police Department today notes that officers were on their way to an emergency call for service when they observed a vehicle parked in the 2300 block of U.S. Highway 90.
“The vehicle was parked with its hazard lights activated. Officers arrived to make contact and observed a female, approximately 53 years of age, to be deceased in the driver seat of the vehicle.
“EMS was requested and life-saving techniques were administered but were unsuccessful. The (DRPD) criminal investigations division and a justice of the peace were requested, and the female was pronounced deceased on scene,” the police department release reads.
It adds, “At this time, no foul play is suspected, and an autopsy was requested to be completed. This incident is currently under investigation.”
