NEWS — REPEAT DISTURBANCE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO STALKING ARREST IN DEL RIO

The following press release was provided by the Del Rio Police Department.

On 05/15/2026 at approximately 10:00 A.M. officers of the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 800 block of East 9th Street for an unwanted male subject. Police learned the male subject attempted to make entry into the residence and injured himself in the process.

Upon arrival police discovered the male subject had an active Criminal Trespass Warning for the residence. Police discovered a history of calls for service at the location regarding the unwanted male subject causing disturbances with the female complainant.

In addition to the Criminal Trespass Warning, the subject had been verbally advised numerous times by police to stay away from the residence; however, he had failed to comply with all lawful orders. Police learned the male subject had recently been arrested for violating the Criminal Trespass Warning.

Furthermore, police responded to a call for service regarding the subject and same behavior earlier that day. An inquiry revealed at least 10 previous calls for service within the recent months regarding this subject at the same location.

Police attempted to handcuff the male to safely continue with the investigation, but the male resisted detention. The male was subdued and safely restrained without further incident. He was then escorted inside a patrol unit where he was informed of his arrest.

The male subject Jose Luis Victorino Cervantes; 25 yrs. of age was arrested and charged with the offense of Stalking and Resisting Arrest Search or Transportation. Police submitted a request for an Emergency Protective Order on behalf of the victim.

Cervantes was transported to the police station for processing; he was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
