The San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District released the following press releases Wednesday, September 6, concerning threats and arrests.

NEW REPORT OF THREAT RECEIVED BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES
Local authorities have notified the District of a call received indicating a threat to shoot a school.
Authorities clarified that no particular school was mentioned in the call.
Local officials are working with DPS to isolate the threat. At this time, there is no reason to believe that the threat is real. However, we are providing this information as part of our efforts to be transparent.
Please continue to monitor your student’s use of cell phones and social media accounts. Working together we will continue to maintain safe schools.

LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES MAKE AN ARREST IN CONNECTION WITH THREAT REPORT
Through a collaborative effort between DPS, City of Del Rio Police Department, the Val Verde
County Sheriff and SFDRCISD Police, an arrest has been made in connection with the call received earlier this evening indicating a threat to shoot a school.
DPS quickly worked to isolate the threat, believed to have been initiated by an adult male, and the Val Verde County Sheriff made an arrest.
SFDRCISD thanks all agencies for their efforts in helping to keep our schools safe.
The District will remain vigilant and will continue to monitor all reports received.
