One man was seriously injured as a result of a shooting in Val Verde Park Estates Friday morning, Val Verde County Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez said.
“Deputies responded to the area of Grissom Drive and Rusty Drive in reference to a shooting,” Martinez told the 830 Times.
The incident occurred just before 9 a.m.
“The case is still under investigation. One individual was detained for questioning, and the other individual was transported to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center, and he was later transferred to a hospital in San Antonio in stable but critical condition,” Martinez said.
The sheriff declined to release the names of either the man detained for questioning or the man injured in the shooting.
“There a lot going on with this one, so we’re trying to gather all the facts,” Martinez said.
