Independent Bankers Association of Texas recognizes Del Rio bank’s architectural design achievement
Press release from Independent Bankers Association of Texas
The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT), the largest state community banking association in the nation, recently honored The Bank and Trust, S.S.B. in Kerrville with a Best of Community Banking (BOCB) Award. The bank received a Silver Eagle Award in the Architectural Design category for its “A Purpose-Built Financial Center Defined by Enduring Design and Community” entry.
The Bank and Trust’s Kerrville financial center was designed to serve as both a functional banking facility and a lasting investment in the Texas Hill Country community. The 6,200-square-foot building carries forward an architectural identity used across the bank’s locations while incorporating design elements tailored to its local setting.
A distinctive brick façade, horizontal louvers and curved roofline define the exterior, while welcoming interior spaces were designed around the bank’s emphasis on relationship banking. The facility was also planned with operational efficiency, customer experience, and future growth in mind, allowing the building to meet current needs while supporting the bank’s continued presence in the community.
Extending the financial center’s purpose beyond traditional banking services, the facility includes a dedicated community room available to local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and civic groups. The space provides a place for community organizations to gather and reflects the bank’s commitment to creating a facility that serves both its customers and the broader Kerrville community.
By balancing a consistent architectural identity with functionality and community use, the Kerrville financial center reflects The Bank and Trust’s focus on stability, service, and long-term investment in the communities it serves.
2026 marks the 35th year that IBAT has celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of Texas community banks with the BOCB Awards.
