Local officials have confirmed that 8 were killed in a tragic 2-vehicle accident north of Loma Alta, Texas in the northeast corner of Val Verde county.
The crash occurred after a pursuit from Texas Department of Public Safety.
Three rescue helicopters have taken survivors to hospitals as far away as San Antonio.
The vehicle’s driver has been taken into custody.
Hwy. 277 will be closed for hours.
