Comstock – County officials reported a train caught fire here Friday morning, blocking
both of the town’s railroad crossings.
The sheriff’s office was notified about the fire at 6:58 a.m. Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez
was en route shortly after.
County Judge Lewis G. Owens Jr. told The 830 Times shortly after 9 a.m. that the fire
had been extinguished. Owens said railroad officials told him another engine was being
dispatched to the site.
The county judge also said he would share more details as they
became available.
