The body of a woman swept away in flood waters in northern Val Verde County was recovered today, Val Verde County Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez confirmed.
“The sheriff’s office criminal investigations division is investigating this as a death related to the flooding,” Martinez told The 830 Times in a telephone interview today.
Martinez also confirmed a man who was with the woman has been found alive and has been taken to Val Verde Regional Medical Center where he is undergoing treatment.
Martinez said the man and woman were found today with the assistance of Texas Department of Public Safety air assets, as well as Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the U.S. Border Patrol.
Martinez said the incident remains under investigation.
