Voting is underway in the joint primary runoff election for the Val Verde County Democratic and Republican parties.
Early voting began Monday in the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce conference room at the Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd. Early voting in person for both parties will be held at this location.
Voters may park at the north end of the civic center, then follow the signs to the polling location entrance.
There are three races on the ballots for persons who voted in the Republican Party Primary Election in March.
Republican voters will select their nominee for Texas attorney general, Texas land commissioner and Texas railroad commissioner.
Incumbent Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton faces challenger George P. Bush in the runoff to become the Republicans’ nominee for attorney general.
Candidates Dawn Buckingham and Tim Westley face off for the Republican nomination for Texas land commissioner, and incumbent Texas Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian will again face challenger Sarah Stogner as they vie to become the GOP’s nominee for Texas railroad commissioner.
Democratic Party voters in the runoff will select their nominees for Texas lieutenant governor, Texas attorney general, Texas comptroller, Texas land commissioner and the District 1 member of the State Board of Education.
Mike Collier and Michelle Beckley face off as both seek to become the Democrats’ nominee for lieutenant governor.
