Del Rio High School students in the Career and Technical Education’s Welding Program won numerous awards, including a state championship, at the 2023 SkillsUSA State Competition held recently in Corpus Christi, TX.
First Place Gold Winners – State Champions – Welding Team Fabrication team of Carlos Sanchez, Jovan Arizpe, and Rodolfo Hernandez. These students will advance to the Skills USA National Competition held mid-June in Atlanta, Georgia.
Third Place Bronze – Welding Sculpture- Carlos Villarreal
First Place & Best in Show – Welding Job Exhibit Furniture: Desks
Team A: Abraham Guillen, Felipe Lopez, and Fabian Magallon; Team B: Anay Martinez, Alexia Vasquez, Daniel Garces, and Jose De La Paz.
