A 32-year-old San Antonio woman was arrested and faces a felony false report charge after she allegedly threatened a local teacher and his classroom, Del Rio police said.

Yvette Gonzalez was arrested in San Antonio by members of the San Antonio Police Department Aug. 18 on a warrant obtained by Del Rio Police Department Detective Darian Castro, DRPD Chief Frank Ramirez told the 830 Times Friday.

Gonzalez has been charged with the offense of creating a false alarm or report, a state jail felony, Ramirez said.

In an affidavit filed in the case, Castro wrote the Del Rio Police Department became aware of the alleged threats on Aug. 17.

On that day, a Del Rio High School teacher, identified as Campbell Ochoa, called Del Rio police.

“(He) advised on (Aug.17) he had received and continued to receive a multiple amount of threatening text messages and phone calls from his ex-girlfriend, identified as Gonzalez,” Castro wrote.

He noted Ochoa agreed to come to the police station and showed officers “approximately 50 text messages that were sent within the last 24 hours.”

In one message, Gonzalez allegedly demanded Ochoa pay her $100 “or I’m seriously gonna (expletive) shoot ur (your) student.”

“Gonzalez furthermore (texts), ‘u think im joking? Lol, fine ur entire class is gonna die.’ Ochoa advised Gonzalez had also made death threats to his parents and grandparents,” Castro wrote.

Castro said DRPD Officer Christopher Lauritzen, who took the initial report from Ochoa, notified him about the case, and Castro said he began investigating further.

“Upon review of the text messages, I observed several alarming messages which indicated the following: ‘Im going there and ima shoot yo ur school, your gonna (expletive) regret no answering me.’ ‘On my way!’ and ‘No, I’m going to your (expletive) school, and ima kill everyone starting w u (with you)’,” Castro wrote.

Castro noted after his reviewing of Gonzalez’s text messages, he requested a warrant for Gonzalez’s arrest, which was signed by County Court-At-Law Judge Sergio Gonzalez.

DRPD Lt. Hubert Smith, who heads the department’s detective division, said Friday a bond of $250,000 was set in the case by Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Jesse James Treviño.

Smith said Treviño also ordered a number of bond conditions, including a prohibition that Gonzalez not possess weapons, that she not communicate with Ochoa, that she not come within 100 yards of his home or place of employment and that she wear an ankle monitor.

“We did have a lot of coordination with the FBI, the school district, San Antonio PD, so it was a combined effort where we were able to gather the information needed for the (arrest) warrant, and once the warrant was established, we also had assistance from our local sheriff’s office, including Chief (Waylon) Bullard, who helped us input the warrant into the state system, and from that point, we contacted SAPD and they assisted us by making the arrest,” Smith said.
