Val Verde County Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez confirmed today a woman died Sunday in a jet-ski accident on Lake Amistad.
Martinez said the fatal accident occurred near the Cow Creek area northwest of Box Canyon on Lake Amistad in the Amistad National Recreation Area. He said the deceased woman was visiting the lake from out-of-town.
“The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is sending in a boating accident reconstruction team, and our office is assisting them with the investigation,” Martinez told the 830 Times in a telephone interview today.
Martinez said the investigation is ongoing, and more details about the circumstances of the fatal accident would be provided at a later date.
