OBITUARY – Corey Paige Rowland

Our Dear Son, Brother and Father, Corey Paige Rowland, 40, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
Corey was born in Del Rio on December 21, 1982 and raised in Pandale, Tx. He graduated from Comstock High School in 2001. He went on to become a firefighter and EMT at Del Rio Fire and Rescue, while still pursuing his passion of being a rancher in Pandale. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Agriculture in 2014 from Texas State University in San Marcos, where he served as an ambassador for incoming agricultural students.
Corey had an unbounding love for his family, was a passionate man with a great love for the outdoors, working with his hands, and helping people and animals. There are very few men that thought and felt as deeply as he did. He loved to spend his time reading and learning.
Corey was a philosopher from a young age and recently grew a deeper relationship with God.
He is preceded in death by grandfather John D. Rowland Jr. (Bub), grandmother Mary Louise Rowland (Dee), Grandfather George E. Ahoyt and Grandmother Harriet J. Ahoyt.
Corey is survived by his son Asher Arnold Rowland, mother Tracey Elizabeth Ahoyt, father Dennis Elmo Rowland and step mother Candace Rowland, sister Alyssa Rowland King, her husband James King Jr (Jimmy) niece Addyson Lake King and Sister Stevie Louise Rowland Gmitro, her husband Jeffrey W. Gmitro, brother Garrett Lyne Rowland, his wife Juyeon Byeon, Stepfather Ronald Hubbard, Step Brothers Silas, Lyle, and Cade Hubbard.
Family-only visitation will be held 4 pm to 6 pm, Friday, January 13th at Sunset Memorial Oaks, 2020 Bedell Ave, Del Rio, Tx 78840. Services are to be held the following day, Saturday, January 14th at 1pm at St. James Episcopal Church, 206 W Greenwood St, Del Rio, Tx 78841.
