His military career sent them to many unique places in the United States. After retiring from the Air Force they returned to Del Rio. Romie devoted her life to her beloved residents at the Del Rio Nursing Home as Activity Director. She also worked at a local Group Home for Disabled Adults, and later she was a home care provider. She was a self-taught seamstress, knitter, crocheter, and crafter. She also had a special bond with her grandchildren that she loved deeply.
She will be greatly missed.
