Del Rio Police Department press release
The Del Rio Police Department has apprehended two juveniles responsible for a series of vandalism incidents that caused significant destruction to multiple city parks.
At Lions Park, restrooms were vandalized, including a broken toilet, a soap dispenser pulled from the wall, and damaged water pipes. At Hogan Park, both men’s and women’s restrooms sustained extensive damage—destroyed toilets, cracked sinks removed from walls, and broken water pipes causing flooding.

At Moore Park City Pool, trash cans were thrown into the pool, light fixtures ripped from walls, bathroom signs damaged, two portable toilets overturned, and a water fountain pulled from the wall.
Working closely with the community, Del Rio Police Department detectives quickly began piecing together information and reviewing video evidence, including TikTok footage showing a juvenile striking porcelain toilets with a hammer.
Leads provided by concerned citizens allowed detectives to identify the suspects and move in rapidly.
One suspect was located and taken into custody at his home. The second fled on foot, jumping into San Felipe Creek in an attempt to escape. Officers entered the water, pursued the suspect downstream, and apprehended him near Magnolia Street without further incident.
During evidence collection, a vape pen containing THC concentrate was found hidden in one suspect’s shoe and seized.
