Soccer fans, rejoice! The Rams are nearly ready to return to action.
After being kept away from the pitch since early January to help the community in its fight against COVID-19, the Del Rio High Rams are just a few days away from returning to competition. It’ll be the first competition the Rams have seen since a match against San Antonio Cornerstone Dec. 29.
Del Rio released its revised schedule and is set to return to competition Tuesday, Feb. 16, when they open district play at Laredo United South at Kruger Field at 7 p.m.
Due to the loss of scheduling time, the Rams will have a busy first week of action. From Feb. 16 to Feb. 23, Del Rio is scheduled to play five matches including back-to-back matches Feb. 16 and 17 and Feb. 22 and 23.
The Rams’ first two matches will be in Laredo against United South and LBJ on Feb. 17. Del Rio then gets its first home match on Friday, Feb. 19, when they host the Eagle Pass Eagles at 6 p.m. at Walter Levermann Ram Stadium.
The Rams head back to Laredo on Monday, Feb. 22, to face the Laredo Nixon Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. at Nixon High School.
The next day, the Rams will host the Laredo United Longhorns at Ram Stadium at 6 p.m. Three days later, on Feb. 26, the Rams will take on LBJ again, but this time at Ram Stadium at 6 p.m.
The first round of district play for the Rams ends Wednesday, March 3, as Del Rio travels to Laredo for its second match against United at Kruger Field at 8 p.m.
The second half of district play begins Friday, March 5 as the Rams host Nixon at 6 p.m. Three days later, Del Rio hosts Laredo Alexander at 6 p.m.
The Rams’ final trip to Laredo will be Wednesday, March 10, when Del Rio again faces Alexander at Kruger Field at 7 p.m.
Del Rio’s final home match of the season will be Friday, March 12, when the Rams take on United South at 6 p.m.

All games are subject to change.
