Del Rio’s busy winter break has come to an end.
The Rams basketball team wrapped up its winter break schedule with a tough 90-64 loss Wednesday night at Fredericksburg. The loss was the Rams’ fourth in a row and leaves Del Rio 5-8 on the season.

The Rams were able to crack 20 points in the second and third quarters. Cesar Gavia had nearly half of Del Rio’s points in the third quarter, scoring 10 of the Rams’ 23 points, but Del Rio scored just 15 points in the fourth quarter as they dropped the contest by 26 points.
Gavia finished the game with 18 points to lead the Rams. Nick Rivera had 17 points, Luis Arteaga had 11, J.J. Cervantes had nine, Will Proffit had five, and Joel Dominguez and Jorge Rubio each had two.
The Rams are scheduled to return to action Tuesday, Jan. 5, when they resume district play against the Laredo Alexander Bulldogs at 6 p.m. at the Carl P. Guys Memorial Gymnasium in Del Rio.
