Ricardo Guajardo, 68, passed away from complications due to COVID-19 January 19, 2021 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
He was born October 24, 1952 in Bay City, Michigan.
A longtime resident of Del Rio, Ricardo is remembered as a funny and charismatic man who enjoyed a rich, full life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano and Ninfa Acevedo.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Loreen Olvera and her husband Victor Olvera of Iraan, Texas and their children, Madelynn and Eli Overa; his son, Ricardo Guajardo Jr. and wife Yulissa Guajardo of Del Rio and his daughters, Bryanna Guajardo and Dulce Amor Guajardo; his son, baby Seth Guajardo (deceased); his son, Richard Guajardo of Odessa, Texas; his sister, Rita Ramon of San Antonio, Texas; his brothers, Encarnacion Guajardo of Jourdanton, Texas, and Marcos Guajardo of Del Rio; two living step-brothers from the Acevedo family – Chuy Acevedo of Menard, Texas, and Reyes Acevedo of California; and several nieces and nephews who loved him so much.
As per his family’s wishes, Ricardo will be cremated. A private memorial mass will be held in his honor at a later date.
