For the third year in a row, Del Rio’s Isaac Diaz is the top male golfer in District 30-6A.
The Del Rio High junior captured his third consecutive district championship recently in Laredo. His performance helped the Rams capture the district crown as a team, the first since Diaz joined the squad in the 2022-23 season.

Diaz wasn’t the only medalist on the Rams. Ethan Jurado finished second to take silver and give the Rams the top two spots. Diaz and Jurado join teammates Juan Pablo Cortez, Maximiliano Ramon and Angel Narvaez as district champions.
It’s the second consecutive year the Rams will compete at the regional tournament after finishing second at the district tournament in 2024. This year’s regional golf tournament will be played at the Club of Texas Golf Course April 16-17.
Last season Diaz finished third at the regional tournament to qualify for State for the first time. He finished tied for 19th overall.
Diaz’s district championship comes on the heels of a strong fall season in which he won three tournaments. In February, he helped the Rams win the annual Del Rio High School Boys Brown Automotive Invitational by winning his third consecutive individual championship. He was joined among the medalists by teammates Jurado, who finished second, and Cortez, who finished fourth.
