Fans of the Del Rio High School soccer programs will get a chance to watch two matches for the price of one Friday night.
Tickets went on sale Wednesday for the Bi-District round playoff games featuring the District 30-6A girls soccer champion Del Rio Queens and 30-6A boys soccer third seed Del Rio Rams teams. The two teams will be in action at San Antonio’s Gustafson Stadium, 7001 Culebra Road, Friday evening when they take on teams from District 29-6A.
The Rams will play first, taking the pitch at 5:30 p.m. against the San Antonio O’Connor Panthers, the number two seed from 29-6A.
The Queens will play in the nightcap, taking on 29-6A fourth seed San Antonio Harlan at 7:30 p.m.
This is the second consecutive year that both the Rams and Queens soccer teams qualify for postseason play. Last season the Queens were eliminated in the first round by Taft while the Rams reached the third round for the first time in the program’s history, eventually falling to fellow 30-6A team Laredo Alexander.
