It was a clean sweep for the Del Rio Queens volleyball as they won their fifth consecutive match Friday night.
The Queens beat Pearsall, 25-18, 25-15, 25-10, to move to 12-6 on the season. Their win streak stretches back to the Nita Vannoy Memorial Tournament in San Angelo the weekend of Aug. 19.
While Queens head coach Angelica Rivera didn’t have the stat sheets on hand, she did laud several of her players for their performances in the win at Pearsall.
“Karolina Alderete, Kylie Ramirez and Jazira Cuenca had a great run serving to help get leads in each set,” Rivera said via text message. “The front row, the three already mentioned, plus Iva Garabedian and Yuridia Muñiz have become much more aggressive at the net, which is helping us come out on top.”
The Queens will host the Eagle Pass C.C. Winn Lady Mavericks Tuesday at the Carl P. Guys Memorial Gymnasium at 6 p.m. Freshmen and junior varsity are scheduled to play at 5 p.m.
