The Rams have brought a piece of the District 30-6A boys soccer back to Del Rio.
Del Rio did its part, beating Eagle Pass 7-1, to claim a share of the district title with Laredo United, which beat Laredo Alexander 5-1.
While the two teams will share the district championship, United will be the No. 1 seed out of 30-6A by virtue of having beaten Del Rio head-to-head. Del Rio will be the No. 2 seed followed by Laredo Alexander as the No. 3 seed and Laredo United South is the fourth seed.
Del Rio’s goals against Eagle Pass came fast and furious. Luis Estrada opened the attack with a goal off an assist from Angel Aldrete. Emmanuel Vela was next to strike with a goal thanks to an assist from Cesar Piña. Hector Trujillo got into the act, scoring off Aldrete’s second assist.
Ely Losoya scored followed by Trujillo’s second goal, with an assist by Losoya. Aldrete scored a goal as well, while Trujillo capped the scoring with his third score of the match, this one off an Estrada assist.
As of publication the Rams’ Bi-District round opponent is still unknown. Del Rio could face O’Connor, the third seed out of 29-6A, but several teams in that district still have one more match left to play.
