Del Rio’s playoff chances in boys soccer took a hit Tuesday night in Laredo.
The Rams fell behind 2-0 to Laredo Nixon and could never recover, losing 2-1 to the Mustangs.
The loss drops the Rams out of a tie for third place with Nixon and into a tie for fourth place with Laredo United South, which was not in action Tuesday night.
Del Rio trailed 2-0 at halftime but cut the lead to 2-1 off a goal by Sebastian Casas. The Rams had their chances late, but could not net the equalizer.
The Rams are scheduled to host Laredo Alexander Friday at Walter Levermann Ram Stadium at 6:30 p.m.
