Del Rio’s Rams soccer team is off to a strong start in this 2021-22 season.
Del Rio picked up a 4-2 win over San Antonio McCollum on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
Robert Garcia had a pair of goals for Del Rio while Demian Fernandez and Hector Trujillo accounted for the Rams’ other goals.
It was the first official match of the new season for Del Rio. The win came on the heels of a 2-1 loss to San Antonio Cornerstone in the Rams’ final tune-up before the games that count began. Garcia had Del Rio’s lone goal in that match, too.
Del Rio was supposed to travel to Kerrville this past weekend for a tournament, but the Rams did not make the trip.
The Rams are not scheduled to play again until Tuesday, Jan. 18, when they travel to Odessa to face Permian at 5:30 p.m.
Del Rio’s next home match will be Friday, Jan. 21, when the Rams host Midland High at 5 p.m. at Walter Levermann Ram Stadium.
