Del Rio’s boys soccer team continued playing catch-up in regards to its schedule this week, playing three matches including two in Laredo.
The Rams first took on Laredo United Wednesday and dropped that match, 2-1.
Hector Trujillo scored Del Rio’s lone goal thanks to an assist from Ely Losoya.
Friday night the Rams were in front of the home fans at Walter Levermann Ram Stadium to face the Laredo Nixon Mustangs.
Del Rio earned its second district win of the season, blanking the Mustangs 2-0.
Raymundo Rivera and Cesar Piña each had a goal while Angel Aldrete notched an assist.
Saturday, the Rams traveled to Laredo for their second match against Laredo Nixon. The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime and finished regulation time tied 2-2. Piña and Noe Trujillo each scored for Del Rio. Nixon prevailed in a shootout, stopping Del Rio, 3-0.
Del Rio is now 2-2-1 in district play with eight points – three points for a win, one point for a regulation draw.
The Rams’ next home match will be Monday at 6 p.m. against Laredo Alexander.
