City of Del Rio Police Department press release
On January 16th, 2022 the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 400 block of San Juan Street to investigate a drive-by shooting. Police learned the actor(s) had fired at a residence, resulting in the death of a child.
On January 19th, 2022 one of the five co-defendants identified as Aldo Esquivel; 18 years of age was arrested after police discovered evidence to corroborate his participation in the crime. Esquivel remained incarcerated pending trial.
On January 25th, 2024 Aldo Esquivel; 20 years of age entered a Guilty Plea in the 63rd Judicial District Court of Val Verde County for the offense of Murder and was sentenced to 40-years of confinement.
