Del Rio Police Department press release
On May 6th, 2025, the Del Rio Police Department responded to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center for an assault report. Upon arrival police met with a 17 yr. old female who reported she had been at the Skate Park located on W. De La Rosa Street a few days prior and a male acquaintance offered her narcotics.
The female told police she consumed the drug and agreed to go to the male’s residence. The female fell asleep due to the effects of the drug and upon waking up she experienced pain to her private areas. According to the female, the male confessed to sexually assaulting her while she was sleeping. The female left the residence but did not report the incident until the day she was taken to the hospital and police were notified.
Police completed the initial report and forwarded the case to the Criminal Investigation Division for further inquiry. Such investigation alleged, the male suspect initially approached the female at the skate park approximately one year prior, when she was 16 years of age. The male soon exposed the female to alcohol and various drugs. The male suspect was identified as Frank Peter Denardo. The female reported two additional incidents in which she was previously sexually assaulted by the same male.
Due to the information revealed; police were able to obtain a search warrant for Denardo’s residence located at the 200 block of McLymont Street. The search warrant resulted in the collection of evidence pertinent to sexual crimes. Police also obtained three arrest warrants for the offense of Sexual Assault against Denardo.
The morning of June 23rd, 2025, police located Frank Peter Denardo; 50 yrs. of age, walking at the Hogan Park and successfully executed all three arrest warrants charging him with Sexual Assault (x 3 counts). Denardo was transported to the police station where he was processed for the offense. He was later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
This is considered an open investigation and may result in additional criminal charges.
