A Del Rio lab and wellness business that has been quietly serving the community for nearly five years held its official grand opening Wednesday, to mark its rebranding.
Jose and Erica Campos unveiled the newly refreshed Field Diagnostics: Lab and Wellness Services, a business that calls itself a one-stop shop for medical laboratory testing and a growing slate of wellness and aesthetic treatments, located at 401 W. Cantu Road, Suite F.
The couple, who are both trained medical professionals, have built their business around convenience, discretion and comprehensive care. “We already service many facilities, employers, students and patients in the Del Rio area,” Jose said. “Now we want to be considered for your wellness and cosmetic needs—things like IV hydration, wellness injections and weight-loss support.”
Field Diagnostics offers a full range of lab testing—including blood panels, STD testing and drug screening—for individuals, employers, courts and schools. They’ve partnered with multiple national labs to ensure they can cover nearly any test under the sun. “Whether it’s for employment, college admission or personal peace of mind, we can help,” Jose added.
Their wellness menu includes vitamin-rich IV cocktails, weight-loss injections and skin rejuvenation services such as microneedling, dermaplaning, Botox and fillers—with more to come. “We’re even testing out a natural weight-loss option ourselves so we can say, ‘Look what it did for us,’” Erica said.
Some services, like discreet STD testing, are drawing clients from neighboring communities. “We’ve had people travel from outside Del Rio just because they want something quick, discreet and reliable,” Erica said. “They appreciate how nonjudgmental and welcoming the process is here.”
The business is deeply personal for the Camposes. After 20 years in San Antonio, where Jose tried to get companies to open a branch in Del Rio, he finally decided he’d have to do it himself. “I just want us to show people it can be done here,” Jose said. “Every company I worked with didn’t see my vision, and we are here to bring that vision to life.”
In addition to their professional compatibility, Jose and Erica say their secret to working together so closely is simple: friendship. “You have to do it with your best friend,” Erica said. “We share the same passions, the same interests and even speak the same medical language. It just works.”
It’s been working for them for the past 18 years of marriage and four children, 21, 16, 12 and 4-years-old.
While the business has grown organically over the years, the couple is now embracing a more strategic path. Their refreshed clinic space and broadened service list reflect that renewed focus. “We don’t always know exactly where we’re headed,” Erica said with a laugh, “but we’re going to keep building—and maybe surprise you along the way.”
Jose quickly added. “It’s such a pleasure here, because we’re serving our community, our family,” he said. “Nuestra Frontera, Nuestra Familia.”
