There’s a more-than-50-percent chance of some much-needed rain across portions of Val Verde County tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.
The National Weather Service forecast for the next week gives Del Rio the greatest chance for rain Sunday during daylight hours.
The NWS forecast for Saturday reads, “A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and a possible thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 93. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.”
The chance of rain decreases Saturday night, then increases again on Sunday.
The NWS forecast for Sunday reads, “Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm.
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.”
The rain chances decrease again for Sunday night and into Monday, with the NWS calling for a 40 percent chance of rain Sunday night and during the day on Monday.
