City of Del Rio Police Department
On September 3, 2025, at approximately 8:01 p.m., the Del Rio Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 90 East and Dallas Drive.
During the investigation, officers made contact with one of the drivers, identified as 27-year-old Italia Hernandez. While speaking with Hernandez, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside her vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a smoking pipe containing burned marijuana, a jar containing THC wax, a THC vape pen, and a clear bag containing Xanax pills. Testing of the vape pen confirmed the presence of THC.
Hernandez was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG2 ≥1G <4G and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. She was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for booking and later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
