A fire was reported on East Ogden Street along the railroad tracks near Sigma Tron
International Inc., 103 Avenue J., on Sunday night at 10 p.m.
Lt. Roberto Hernandez of the Del Rio Police Department was the supervisor on the scene and
said trees near the north of the train tracks were reported burning. The Del Rio Fire Department
Station Three arrived on the scene to put out the fire.
Hernandez said no one knows how the fire was started, but he added he believed it may have
been started by homeless persons camping in the area. He said previous fires reported may
have also been caused by homeless persons in the area.
Hernandez said there were no property damages or personal injuries to anyone in the area. The
fire department finished extinguishing the fire about 10:30 p.m.
