NEWS — Family Dollar fight leads to hospitalization

On December 8, 2025, at approximately 7:13 p.m., the Del Rio Police Department responded to the Family Dollar Store in the 700 block of East Gibbs Street regarding a report of two males arguing inside the business.
Upon arrival, officers located both individuals outside of the store, where one male was found to have sustained a laceration to the side of his face.

The investigation determined that the two males were involved in a verbal dispute inside the business, which escalated into a physical altercation. During the confrontation, both individuals introduced cutting instruments, resulting in injury to one of the subjects.

The injured male was transported to Val Verde Regional Medical Center and subsequently transferred to a medical facility in San Antonio, Texas, for further treatment.

The second male, identified as Adan Aguilar, 24 years of age, was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Aguilar was transported to the police station for booking and later released to the custody of the GEO Correctional Facility pending the magistration process.

This incident remains under investigation.
