Council Candidate Profile — David Scarbo

Question #1: What in your opinion is your experience, personal or professional, that qualifies you for the position of Councilperson District 2?

“Over the past 50 plus years I have been thoroughly involved in management, supervisory and leadership roles both in military, as well as civilian positions. I have taught the responsibilities in these areas to military and civilian adults and youth, as well as administrative qualities both personal and professionally. Just as important I have always tried to set the example of what is morally right and wrong when conducting our personal and professional business. Working together for the benefit of everyone versus our own self is most important. The thing to remember is “ACTIONS ALWAYS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.”

Question #2: What is your vision for this position for the next four years?

“My vision for this position, this city administration and its employees and the council is to be united in service to the citizens of Del Rio. We have to believe that we can ALL work together if Del Rio is going to have a successful and prosperous community.

“I want to strive to work with the council to bring in sustainable growth to our economy and infrastructure. I believe in finding the right finance manager who can work with city administration and council to bring us back into a better Financial State. Looking into what rules we have in the charter that we might not be implementing to help raise funding without raising citizens bills or taxes. Looking into find other alternatives to get us back to being financially stable.

“I want to work with the council to find the best most effective and qualified city administration that we can possibly find. Using my years of successful experience in management to help implement better job descriptions for those city leadership positions. Lastly as a retired individual I want to use my time to be transparent and accountable for the citizens of Del Rio. I want to always be available for our citizens when it is needed not just for my district but for all of the city.”
