FROM THE SAN FELIPE DEL RIO CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
Fifty-eight percent of the parents who responded to a survey issued to the parents of the graduating Class of 2021 class prefer to have one commencement ceremony on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 8 p.m. and the second commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 8 p.m. The other two options received 27 percent and 15 percent of the vote.
Due to the large margin in favor of this plan, Del Rio High School, Early College High School and Blended Academy will begin the process of identifying the candidates for graduation and their assigned ceremony. The list for both ceremonies was to be finalized and released Thursday, April 29. Campus administration, at each of our high schools, would then communicate the assigned graduation date to each candidate and to their parents.
“We are very appreciative of the participation and feedback we’ve received from our high school seniors and their parents. They have been supportive and instrumental in guiding us towards a plan that will make Graduation 2021 a memorable event for each family,” Dr. Carlos Rios, San Felipe Del Rio CISD superintendent, said.
The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 was also conducted over multiple days. As has been tradition, parents, friends and family members who are unable to attend the graduation ceremony in person may also watch a livestream of the ceremonies at www.sfdr-cisd.org/live or on Spectrum cable channel 1301.
