NEWS — Early voting begins Monday for May 7 elections

Early voting begins Monday for several local elections.

Voters participating in the elections will seat members of the Del Rio City Council, the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees, the Val Verde Hospital District Board of Directors and the Val Verde County/Comstock Water Control Improvement District. The ballot will also include a constitutional amendment special election.

Early voting in person for all of the elections will be in the Red Oak Ballroom on the north end of the Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd.

Early voting will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, April 25, through Friday, April 29, and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2, and Tuesday, May 3.

Early voters may also cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 1.

Voters will be required to present photo identification before receiving a ballot. This can be either a Texas driver license or a Texas identification card, according to Val Verde County Clerk Generosa “Janie” Ramon, who has been contracted to oversee the elections.
